NF Hospital has not been taken over by the Govt. as expected – GMOA

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) stated that they would take strict decisions if the Government attempted to provide fake solutions to the SAITM issue.

Secretary of the GMOA, Dr. Haritha Aluthge, upon attending a press conference in Colombo yesterday (19), added that the Prime Minister must control the Health Minister’s course of action.

He also added that the Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital of Malabe had evidently not been taken over by the Government, which the representatives of the Frontline Socialist Party also stated at their press conference on Monday (18).

Meanwhile, media correspondents inquired into the formation of a new medical officers’ union under the patronage of Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, during the press conference on cabinet decisions held yesterday (19).
