Whatever the circumstances in granting the ministries, hope they would do good in them. there should not be any free rides. Country needs the best effort from all of them at this moment. good luck and best of wishes to all the new ministers.

Still too big. Some the portfolios can be easily combined.

[Rathnasiri Wickramanayake State Management and Reforms ]

What the heck is he going to do?

    [11.D E W Gunesekara- Rehabilitation and Prisons ]

Should be part of ministry of justice

    [19.Sumedha J Jayasinha- Parliamentary Affairs ]

Is he going to police the parliament?

[4.Nimal Siripala de Silva- Irrigation and Water Resources Management

8.Dinesh Gunawardena- Water Supply and Drainage ]

    Combine the two portfolios.

Well.. I can go on. This can be trimmed to 30 easy. In any case, I commend Mr President for taking this important first step. Well done!

I do not agree with the appointment of Dr. Mervin Silva for the post of deputy minister of Media. It is a slap to press freedom in SL. This is a guy who threatened media personnel openly.

  • 23 Apr 2010 17:29:11 GMT

It could have been trimmed down to 30, This is just to by pass the hot blown air, and thern it will reach the noramal 45-50 day by day towards the end of this year.

Still the MP s in Kandy have not been included, Theya are Keheliya, SB , sarath, and the ketha ulam muuna Aluthgamage, so there 4 4 already, so it will be 42 including Thondas,,, what a JOke again.... President is taking the whole country a ride.

I dont know why there are 2 Deputy ministers for Ports nd Aviation. may be 1 for Colombo port and Airport and the Other for Hambathota and Mattala airport. There goes the best ministrys and pres has yet again given that task to the welol known buddy Raththaran the gold chain nagger to overlook Mattala and Hamaba port ( since he is from Downsouth) so Rohitha Raththram s unexplainable wealth of 400 Milion will go up when he was the nations building he build himself... so tragedy for Sri lanka,

Every ton of Stones he got down for Hamaba Port half goes to him the other half to the maharajano.. so he will continue the good work ,, also he will have a rosy furutre because he ha sa Plane parked doing Cargo servies from Dubai airport,, good allocation of ministry Presidnt...

Last not the least the PERv the MErv will have Mass media.. well that he will enjoy cos he was bathed by womens Pizz at Rupvahini, and having a foul mouth he indeed suitable for that job....

    What for SB-----

    Keheliya----

May be not the best yet...but good

  • 23 Apr 2010 17:32:19 GMT

What happened to S.B. Dissanayaka. Was he elected????

  • 23 Apr 2010 17:32:58 GMT

While congratulating the President for appointing a smaller Cabinet, we request to do away with the Provincial councils, we have in addition Municipal councils, town & village councils etc., ...this is the largest waste of resources, also please strengthen the Public service by giving and appointing Efficient set of Permanent secretaries to run these ministries...give these P/Secretaries more powers so that waste & corruption by the politicians & Ministers can be curtailed to the minimum

    What a joke !

Mervin Silva who blatanlty violates freedom of press and speech is deputy minister of Mass media and iforamtion.

Who is the Minister for Mass media and Communication ?

So Mervin Silva is given the carte blanch to run the whole show under the disguise of a deputy minister?

This shows that those who voted for UPFA are donkeys who had now given all powers to Rajapakse thugs to suppress media freedom and freedom of speech in the country.

37 ministers and 39 deputy ministers. More than half of the UPFA are in other words minsters. What a waste .

This is good for Sinhala Donkeys.

must say that Mr President has a good sense of humour )
