    What a disgrace...

religious folks should be the first to voice their opposition to these sorta dastardly acts and it`s a crying shame that they haven`t done that so far...

when the leaders follow these sorta action what do you expect the common man to do eh?

then they preach how things are bad and how certain things should be stopped blah blah blah... like blaming the tv and the computer...

Where are the Kandyan monks? They are very quick to heap blessings on all who come and worship them, but have they said anything about this cruelty?

Where is JHU. Oh sorry they can`t open mouth because of the un- enviornment ministry..

Where is Champika Ranawaka? Don`t these elephants belong to the enviornment? I think it is, therefore Minister Ranwaka should get the calves back to these elephant mothers shouldn`t he? Where is the `Maithreeya` shown by Buddhism in this case? Champika please do some justice for the `National Dress` you are wearing will you??

Perfectly unacceptable behaviour. For how long are we going to hear this loud echo of silence coming from Kandy? Such present should have been refused right away.

Before wining the war when the president Mahinda Rajapaksa ordered the authorities to neuter and vaccine the stray dogs in the island to control the population and rabis spread instead of culling them, changed my views about the precedent. No doubt the president may intervene to bring these babies back to their mothers.

Authorities should take care not to keep the babies away for long as the mothers may reject them on return, thinking that they are not theirs.

It is just astounding that the President has to be be called upon regularly to sort out the misbehaviour, short sighted decisions made by of his Ministers. Most of these polictical appointees are morons. I think the people should give the President a clear mandate for 10 or 20 years to clear up the Parliment of this scum and help him install a new generation of Sri Lankan leaders for Sri Lanka.
