Srilankan youths should be educated the importance of safe sex.
Risky abortions which poorly carried out by fake practitioner can be led to a serious of illness including getting difficult to get pregnant in the future and the worse case scenario cervical cancer, that forms in tissues of the cervix (the organ connecting the uterus and vagina).
There are many more complications related this issue, So I believe it 's important to educate those youngsters and establishing authorized clinical pastilles around the towns in Sri Lanka.
Despite the local cultural issues, if authorities in Sri Lanka failing to take responsibilities can harm those poor youngsters.

You and I can't stop those girl and boys having sex.
This is not the Sri Lanka We saw when we left, it has changed rapidly and wants to do thing like westernness.
That doesn't mean I like that. but what can be done is the matter.
if the government can stop they are having sex is great and I believe it's highly unlikely...
If this is the case, what do you think they should do? |

It is well known fact there are hundreds of illegal clinics and they undertake abortion as a rautine. They bribe police and hentchmen. It is better to legalize abortion in Sri Lanka so that people who really want abortions can get the service better.

Abortion is an essential service. Legalise it. Then all will be ok.
More and more women are resorting to abortions (over 300,000 each year according to some sudies) over the past 5 to 6 years due economic hardships and cost of living. |

Authorities should give out free condoms to stop abortions. Make them available at all post offices, clinics, cenemas, schools, co op shops, super markets, tuition classes, etc.
When it is made available free, they will use. Edited By - raigamakolla - 21 Aug 2008 05:04:35 G |

This is pretty funny, once legalized any crime can be committed in broad day light. Is this what Roman-Dutch law tells us? Me no expert in law, but I believe it should represent the aspirations of the people of the land. (I'm sorry if I used the wrong word aspiration, since the majority of this country do not have it.)
If we start from abortions, we could easily legalize bribe and corruption. With some effort murder may be added.
Then we can close the police stations and save some money. |

Legalise Abortion, Prostitution, Porn and Homo Sexuality. Everything will be fine. Just fine and SL can claim equality with the West.

| Legalizing abortion will save a lot of lives. hundreds of girls die every year because embarassed parents/ relatives get non-qualified illegal abortionists to work on their kid. people might think kids misbehave these days but things have always been like this. |
