Troops dismantle LTTE offensive preparations - Vavuniya

Troops of the SL army repelled a direct LTTE offensive preparation, in the forward defences west of Omanthai- Vavuniya, today (Aug 31) dismantling terrorist attempts to breach the defence lines.
Responding in defence against hostile threat in the FDLs, troops had retaliated causing heavy damages to LTTE elements, an area military official said. Ground troops launched a multi pronged attack successfully dislodging LTTE attempts to mobilize artillery and mortar launching pads, in distances of military defences.
Defence observers said, this was another failed attempt of the LTTE to breach the military forward defences. Loses to LTTE are yet to be confirmed though, estimates were believed to be over a dozen. The recent engagement was yet another blow to the terrorist outfit which is now confined in the Vanni jungles following its debacle in the east recently.
Meanwhile, military sources said, few Army service members were slightly wounded in the engagement.

Could it be the =JUNIOR SECTION OF THE LTTE= trying their first offensive?
It?s like with everything else, if you are not really motivated (and obviously with forceful enrolement to Velu?s Fan Club you cannot be), the success is hard to achieve.
Anyway, main thing is nobody seems to have died from this incident.
Well, after all these disastrous defeats since Mavil Aru, Velu?s Fan Club is under very high pressure to justify it?s status of SOLE DESTRUCTION REPRESENTATIVE OF HELLAM.

| How come LTTE waited to launch offensive operations until the army complete their operations in the East? Is there an agreement between LTTE and SLA to help each other? If they are real enemies one should attack another when occupied in another theorte. Well propagandists also must make a living. |
