The Tamil National Alliance yesterday (25) called for a hartal in Vavuniya to protest against a Government`s decision to declare Sampur in the East a High Security Zone (HSZ)
In response to the TNA call, all shops and Government offices were closed. Only the government hospital functioned smoothly. Transport was badly affected and all schools in the town and vicinity remained closed.
Security was strengthened in Vavuniya.
Police said that no untoward incidents were reported.

As this is an illegal Harthal, GOSL should take the day's pay from all the workers who did not go to work.
This is like Sri Lankan University students not attending classes because some political changes happened in south America or in the middle east. |

| Have you ever seen the TNA doing something constructif? Going to India to cry about the situation at home, organising 'events' like the one in Vavuniya, not even talking about 'the circus' in the parlement etc. |

LTTE husband TNA wife. Happy wedded life!
Yes much better than the forced marriage of Tamil and Sinhala nations by the British, only a divorce will bring happiness there. |
