Eviction order came from the top: Nagadeepa Prelate
Saturday, 16 June 2007 - 6:35 AM SL Time

The Chief Incumbent of the Nagadeepa Viharaya in Jaffna yesterday said he believed the order for the recent eviction of Tamils from Colombo might have come from `some one at the top` and could not have originated at police level.

Ven Brahmanawatte Sivali Thera told journalists though religious leaders had been keeping quiet for the past 25 years allowing the war to escalate now it was time for them to act to prevent further destruction.

He urged the political leadership of this country to work towards a peaceful solution to the national issue.

Mistakes are always made at the top level. Even in 1958 it was SWRD who took the decision to send the Tamil refugees by 'Boat' to Jaffna. He did not want to Take a chance by sending them via Mihintale & Madawachchiya.

Dear Reverent this is none of your concern.
Keep your damn mouth shut for another 25 years. If not Govt. has to put the blame on Tigers. You know what that means? Aren't you?
