If Lanka enters final, President will be there

[President Rajapaksa also made it a point to make a string of telephone calls before boarding a Mihin Air flight to Rome. The new airline that blossomed virtually overnight has only one Airbus A 320 aircraft leased from a Balkan country. [[Even if it is yet to engage in regular commercial flights,] the Presidential charters would pump in substantial amounts of dollars for it to stay afloat.] This was the President`s second such hire, after he took it for the SAARC summit in New Delhi earlier this month. There are a number of other trips that have been lined up as well. Among them are visits to Nepal, Kuwait and Jordan in the coming weeks. The use of Mihin Air has not been much to the delight of staffers of the national carrier, Srilankan Airlines. At least one of them was chanting slogans against the new budget airline and projecting economic crash landings soon.]

why cant this buffoon buy a single ticket. so much of poor hungry people`s money is wasted to cart around a donkey. hope SL doesn`t make the final. at least the money can be spent on the deserving. fat chance, isn`t it SenaM uncle?

OH OH MR will have another foreign trip. MR wants to get the full credit from our hard working cricketers.

Why not MR take the field as wicket keeper?????

Did even a single state official was there when Susanthika ran 200m final in Sydney Olympic?????? because there was no political gain from her win, because her win was a challenge to the CBK+SB+Mangala government.

Our cricketers will play hard, but politicians will reap the harvest.

I still remember when we got the test status our damn idoits credited it to then president of cricket board Gamini Dissanayaka, forgetting valuable effort of all our previous cricket players.

So irrespective of who work hard and bring glory to the country, there will be a politician to claim it.

The only Air Craft of Mihin Air is virtually becoming an equivalent of `Air Force 1`!

When SL wins the World Cup all the problems of SL will be solved, such is the importance of Winning the World Cup ( to many)!

This is a boost to SL cricketers to have their president in such a great match.

This is rare to see a sport loving president like him.

I don`t think anything wrong with this idea, but of course he`s got to use his own personal money. it will be moral boost for our guys ! Hopefully we will be selected for finals.

Compared to the way country was operated in the hands of JR Jayawardane, Premadasa, Chandrika and Ranil. I would say Rajapakse is the best outmost President we had so far this is with no affliation to any political parties in S.L. Judging by his character he has proven that strict conduct would rid corruption and war in our mother land and he have proven to the world that Sri Lanka is a country to be rekon with, futhermore he has a vast international support and a network which is so effective it would make anyones eyes pop out. If he wants to travel in elephant air who cares, he has protected him self by travelling in a perticular air line for his safety and I dont blame the man, what annoys me is that ppl are critical and negative when the nation is doing so well. We should pay Rajapakse to go to the Caribbean because he deserves it after all it was him who encouraged Jayasooriya to come and play for the team. I salute our diverse team to win the world cup and Rajapakse I will see you at the match...Long live mother lanka!

[Judging by his character he has proven that strict conduct would rid corruption ]

    here we have another Einstein!

stealing 83 million is getting rid of corruption?

are you a clown or a moron?

Another way of wasting SL tax payers money

  • 22 Apr 2007 18:27:41 GMT

How many of you want to see your parents when you are walking down the graduation ceremony ?

How many of you want to take your parents when you are waling down the isle or to the Poruwa for your wedding ???

Do you blame your parents on wasting money for throwing a lavish wedding for you ??

I am not gonna compare this incident to the above in 100%, but there is some similarity between those two. The moral boost of our players is huge when the president himself go there to see the game, This is not to gain a political popularity, this is purely the encouragement of the team ( and may be Mahinda wanted to have a skinny dip in Caribbean; can he do it in Sri Lanka ? NO)

The Sri Lankan team will definitely beat the NZ and qualify for the finals, so Mahinda, be prepared for it and pack the bags. If you have enough room take Ranil with you too... Poor Ranil needs a break from breaks, he was having too many breaks.
