Today, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya disclosed the allowances and benefits available to Members of Parliament. This information was shared in response to a question from Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Chaminda Wijesiri. Additionally, MPs receive a fuel allowance that depends on how far their district is from Parliament. For those on the national list, the allowance is set at 419.76 liters of diesel each month, which is paid at the current market price on the first day of every month. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya highlighted that these allowances are designed to cover expenses related to official work and transportation.
