The recent murder of a lawyer and his wife has sparked serious worries about the safety of people and professionals in Sri Lanka, according to the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA). In a statement, the GMOA emphasized that it is the government's main duty to protect the safety of its citizens and professionals. The group highlighted that every professional should be able to work freely and without fear of threats or intimidation. Additionally, the GMOA raised ongoing concerns about the safety of doctors and the entire healthcare team within Sri Lanka's hospitals. They insisted that a strong and reliable system must be put in place to ensure the safety of the public and to protect professionals in their workplaces.
