The Students’ Union of the Faculty of Management at Rajarata University has reported a serious issue, stating that there is about a 50% shortage of lecturers and professors in the state university system. This problem is especially critical at Rajarata University. Thilina Nirosh, the President of the Faculty's Students’ Union, mentioned that there are nearly 2,000 students studying in the Faculty of Management, but only 12 professors are available to teach. This lack of staff is greatly affecting academic progress. He noted that the Faculty of Management is facing a 45% shortage of lecturers and professors, which has a big impact on students’ learning and academic activities. “The biggest challenge right now is the absence of professors needed for research activities. This has delayed students’ research work,” he explained. Across the six departments in the Faculty of Management at Rajarata University, almost 2,000 students are enrolled, yet there are only 12 professors to guide them.
