Police in Wattala have seized a parcel that contained live ammunition. This incident occurred in the Gaala Junction area during an operation that followed a tip-off, according to the Western Province North Crime Division. Inside the parcel, authorities found four T-56 live rounds, four rounds for a revolver, two rounds for a pistol, and 11 various SIM cards. A 35-year-old man, a former army soldier from Polpagoda in Yakkalamulla, has been arrested in connection with this parcel. The police revealed that the suspect has outstanding warrants from the Galnewa, Kalthota, and Elpitiya Police Divisions. A 72-hour detention order will be sought to continue the investigation into the suspect. The Western Province North Crime Division is further looking into this case.
