Five people were injured in a road accident at the Galkulama police road barrier in Anuradhapura this morning, according to police reports. The Thirappane police mentioned that the crash occurred around 5 a.m. today (01) when two vehicles collided head-on. One vehicle was carrying four people who were returning home after a music concert in Anuradhapura. The other vehicle was part of a family traveling from Kelaniya to Anuradhapura for a trip. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred at a bend, where the vehicle coming from Anuradhapura lost control due to speeding and veered onto the wrong side of the road. The injured include the four passengers and the driver from Anuradhapura, along with one individual from the other vehicle. All have been taken to the hospital. The Thirappane police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
