Almost 800 people were arrested on October 27 as part of the “Nation United – National Drive” campaign in Sri Lanka, which aims to fight against drug problems. The Police Media Division reported that 799 suspects were taken into custody during 805 raids across the island. Investigations have started on two people for their illegally gained assets, and police are looking into eight others who are under detention orders. Additionally, nine drug users found during the raids have been sent for rehabilitation. During these operations, police also confiscated 383 grams of crystal methamphetamine (known as ‘Ice’) and 287 grams of heroin, among other drugs.
