US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that "Cuba will be failing pretty soon." He mentioned that Venezuela, which used to be Cuba's main supplier, has not been sending oil or money to the island lately. Following a recent US military operation that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, a move Trump ordered, the president has discussed taking action against Cuba and applying pressure on its leadership. He has promised to prevent oil and financial support from Venezuela, a long-time ally, from reaching Cuba. "Cuba will be failing pretty soon. Cuba is really a nation that’s very close to failing," Trump told reporters. "You know, they got their money from Venezuela. They got the oil from Venezuela. They are not getting that anymore," he added. Trump has also said that Washington will take control of Venezuela, where Maduro’s former vice president, Delcy Rodriguez, has assumed the role of interim president and is managing the country under US supervision.
