The prime ministers of Denmark and Greenland announced on Tuesday that they will travel to Berlin and Paris to seek support following recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the Arctic territory. Mette Frederiksen from Denmark and Jens-Frederik Nielsen from Greenland are scheduled to meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Tuesday and French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, according to official agendas. Trump's claims over Greenland have strained relations across the Atlantic and prompted European nations to lessen their reliance on the United States, despite Trump recently backing away from tariff threats and stating he would not attempt to take Greenland by force. During their meetings, Frederiksen and Nielsen will address "the current foreign policy situation and the need for a stronger Europe," as stated by the Danish prime minister’s office. Additionally, they will participate in the Welt Economic Summit in Germany on Tuesday.
