A Sri Lankan man was taken into custody at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for trying to bring in over 8 kilograms of ‘Kush’ cannabis. The value of this drug is around Rs. 82.2 million. Airport Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officials arrested him this morning (25). During their search, they found 8 kilograms and 220 grams of ‘Kush’ hidden in eight packages inside his two hand luggage bags. The suspect had just arrived from Muscat, Oman. He is a 37-year-old private security guard who works at a nightclub, according to officials. Both the suspect and the confiscated drugs will be presented to the Negombo Magistrate’s Court for further investigation.
