Heavy rain, exceeding 50 mm, is expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces tomorrow, according to the Department of Meteorology. Showers will also be seen in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, including the Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts. The North-western province may experience several spells of rain as well. After 2:00 p.m., more showers or thundershowers are likely in various areas across Sri Lanka. The Meteorological Department warned that some areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, might have fairly heavy rainfall. Early tomorrow, misty weather is anticipated in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
