Cold weather this morning caused ground frost in several parts of Nuwara Eliya today, November 24. The Department of Meteorology reported that Nuwara Eliya recorded the lowest temperature on the island, with the weather station measuring a minimum of 7.8°C. In addition, thick fog in the catchment areas on the western slopes of the central hills has affected daily activities and traffic. This fog is especially dense on the main roads from Hatton to Nuwara Eliya and Hatton to Colombo, as well as on various side roads. As a result, the Hatton Police have advised drivers to be careful by slowing down and using their headlights while driving in these conditions.
