The Meteorology Department announced today that mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of the country.
However, misty conditions could be expected in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Western provinces as well as in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Meanwhile, the sea areas around the island would be calm. The wind would blow north-easterly with speeds up to 20 to 30 km/h. It may increase to 40–45 km/h in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Chilaw via Puttalam and in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil would sporadically be rough at times.
Near shore sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Galle via Puttalam and Colombo may experience rough season due to an increase in waves.
