The Global Trust Network (GTN) institute in Japan assured Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara of providing more than 1,000 foreign jobs in the fields of caregiving sector for Sri Lankan workers.
Global Trust Networks is a company that helps foreigners work and live in Japan.
The agreement was made during the official visit by the minister to Japan.
As a result, the Japanese government agreed to immediately hire 150 caregivers this year, with the remainder of the workforce next year.
Minister Nanayakkara further said that the ministry is hoping to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries with the view to increase the employment quota in the future.
