Six Police Stations will be set up in the Mullaitivu District soon. Mullaitivu Special Forces Commander Major General Prasanna Silva told the media at the Mullaitivu Security Force Headquarters Monday that the six Police stations will be established within a fortnight. He said a decision was reached at a special discussion Tri Forces Commanders, Inspector General of Police and senior Military Officials had with Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the Mullaitivu Security Forces Headquarters Monday. Major General Silva said the Mullaitivu District has only one Police Station with a single Superintendent of Police.

As the IDPs were resettled in the district, a single Police Station cannot maintain the law and order, he said.

The Major Gene. said although Mullaitivu was the last district liberated from the LTTE, the Government was able to resettle 22,000 IDPs. Only another 30,000 IDPs are to be resettled, he said.

A decision was reached that, with the resettlement of the IDPs, at least there should be another six police stations in the district to maintain law and order. With reference to the others who were to be resettled, Major General Prasanna Silva said they will be resettled as soon as possible.

The major issue is the mines laid by the LTTE.

The demining process is time consuming and the civilians could not be resettled without guaranteeing their safety.

Groups of security forces and many NGOs are engaged in the demining.

Proudly funded by the diaspora eelamites to see that the Sri Lankans in the NE will suffer.

spread tamil people around sinhalese people

Have you been to Colombo to see how tamil people are 'spread around sinhalese people' and live side by side getting about their work without any problems??????

Trying resettle these IDPs in the south will be the last thing the IDPs want as they were domiciled in those areas in the NE and they are now being resettled in those same areas which are familiar to them.
