Sri Lanka Sink India With Last Ball Six

Our batting was brilliant, and Sanga did a good job, by utilizing as many as 07 bowlers, and most importantly rotating them wisely.

His decision to bring in our south paw Malinga at crucial times was most significant.

The middle-order played very sensible cricket. Matthews is growing into a tough and thinking cricketer, this is a good sign.

I have always mentioned here that, Kapu is a good player of pace, and when Nehra was called upon for the last over, I knew Kapu would be upto to the task and finish off things in style.

Special mention should also be made on the batting of Dilshan and Sanga plus young Thissara`s bowling.

    Well done boys, superb win.

    Zaha,

    Great Match!

Hats off to our team, specially the way we batted during the latter part of our innings, and also for restricting India in the second half of their innings.

Playing Thushara was a blunder I thought, and the initial bowling changes made by Sanga left much to be desired. Also, sending Sana opening again was not understandable at all. Inspite of all this its quite remarkable that we pulled it off.

Only negative point was that Sanga`s accent was back, after the match!.....lol

    What a game! Superb win!

This is a top heavy batting side.

Hope SL will stick with the same side.

Sanga is now thinking.... Good rotation of bowlers.

In this side, he has so many to try.

Even the batting can be rotated with such a line up.

Good to see that Young players have learnt to hunt and aware the need to go for the KILL.

My thoughts: (copied across from my page)

[Sri Lanka did extremely well to limit the Indians to 163, and then did even better to fight back into the game after the openers Jayawardene and Jayasuriya got out cheaply! What a comeback by Sanga, Matthews and Kapu! Matthews and Kapu made sure they had the required 143 runs in their sights (to knock out India) before they completely unleashed themselves to get the remaining runs to win the game!

It was very brilliant (and nerve-racking) to watch!! :)]

We should beat England easily. I think Pietersen is still in England with his wife and newborn child.

    Well done.

We managed to reduce the run flow from Indian team in last 10 overs.

90 in 1st 10 overs. only 63 runs in 2nd 10 overs. that credit goes to Sanga of handling bowlers.

[I think Pietersen is still in England with his wife and newborn child. ]

in a previous interview Pitersen said he will return back for semifinals if his wife delivery goes as planned.

    [Playing Thushara was a blunder]

    XFactor,

I remember mentioning somewhere that, the management may surprise us by playing Thushara and that did happen. The reason would have been due to Thushara`s ability to hit the deck plus his batting.

Yes, they are repeatedly doing the same mistake by sending Sanath to face the music first up.

Pietersen will definitely play in the Semis. His wife had a baby boy.
