Absolute power corrupts...president has to be extra careful taking lessons from the past.....Cost cutting, corruption in the public service, waste are some of the important areas the new cabinet has to focus, if they are to win again

[Mammoth victories, as is our experience, precede ignominious defeats]

True!! BUT..... that was in an era where elections were conducted without much or no involvement of computers!

Anyway, in about an years time the Nation would realise in which way the going is and whether MR and the UPFA are indeed on the path to delivering the goods to the Nation, or to themselves!

MR and the UPFA did something that no previous government could do. Many had come to a conclusion that the war will never be won and that the LTTE could not be defeated and that eelam had to be conceded to as a stark factual reality. MR and the UPFA stunned every one by proving all of them them wrong.

This is a man who has proved himself. So he deserves to be given every chance to go ahead with his other claims that he says he will do for the country.

It is only now that he has the full controlling power to to take the country to where he says he could take it without hindrance from any signiicant opposition.

My prediction is that within one year the Nation ought to see whether MR`s vision is one for the Nation or a vision for him, his family and their henchmen.

Lets give the man a break for at least one year.
