Rugby triple champions Kandy Sports Club will leave Sri Lanka on March 10 (today) on a short tour of Dubai and South Africa where they are expected to play a few matches. This tour is of 15 days duration.
The first leg of the tour will be Dubai which is sponsored by their joint sponsors for the rugby season Etisalat.
Kandy Sports Club is expected to play a rugby match against a local team from Dubai.
The second leg of the tour is to South Africa where they are expected to play two matches in the country of birth of their rugby coach Johan Taylor.
At a media briefing held at Kandy Sports Club house at Nittawela, Johan Taylor said this is going to be an important tour where they will get the necessary exposure from strong opponents. When they return to the country, they will be richer by their experience and fresh to start the hectic season ahead.
President of Kandy Sports Club, Dr. Sarath Kapuwatte said that this is the first time they will be making twin tours to two different countries.
They will be not only playing rugby but also will have an outing.
