Disgraceful report on the lankaweb regarding the Red Cross President Jagath Abeysinghe who was with me on the said period, and the reported event describing his participation with Mr Hettige in Political activities in Jaffna!

As much as I am in favor of a change in the Governement this type of diabolical misinformation is callous and dangerous.A great son of a great father should be the pride of all Sri Lankans, not taking aim just to harm the reputation of a good man.

Elections Commissioner himself admits some media have been biased - which means violated election laws. And then he withdrew the Competent Authority appointed by himself. :)

I don`t blame him. He became helpless. But can anybody say overall this election has been free and fair?

Let`s at least give credit to the EC who did his job to the best of his abilities despite all the obstacles. He was one of the few genuine characters in this election. Thank you, Mr. Dissanayake.

[But can anybody say overall this election has been free and fair?]

State media was biased but that was the practice in the past regimes too, if not, we would have been on par with European countries.

I don`t blame MR for the excesses, CBK had the best chance to rim the executive presidency and give power to parliament.

If MR fails to rim the powers of executive presidency, he too may end up paying a heavy price when he goes out of office, who knows SF may strike back again.
