General Fonseka launches political campaign - I will make a supreme sacrifice to defend my land against the politicos who ever they may be joining hands with India. Now we have a daunting task to protect our motherland from India.

Addressing the nation via GOOGLE EMAIL. Then this gets posted on lankanewsweb???

Ok, I`ll make an account as some top brass and try getting my email posted on the web.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is stupid?

  • 17 Aug 2009 17:18:49 GMT

No jack, it is not stupid. It is hilarious!

One should not laugh at other people`s misery but these chaps have reached the height of desparation. Anything that flies which is even remotely connected to a possibility of a slander is hurriedly posted on the web without checking if this is authentic or if at all possible! (LOL on the individual page mind you). Only muticells can do that!!

I suppose the loss of la la land (which never existed in the form they claim at the first place) and the loss of skull of the terrorist who pursued it must have completely derailed these gullibles.

Thivya, quickly start a new thread darling. That is a tactic you have followed always to divert the embarrassment of your own posts. LOL))

    Good luck

    SuCHu and Jackthelier

Why dont you check the website yourself?

    Sinhalyas are going bonkers!

  • 17 Aug 2009 17:49:27 GMT

    Dear Robins,

I dont know if you have been to the website yourself but i did. Allow me to give you their main headlines today.

    1. Platform for Freedom-Public Meeting in Kurunegala

    2. General Fonseka launches political campaign

    3. Plan to remove Anura Yapa as Cabinet Spokesperson

    4. Chairmanship of Ranaviru Seva Authority given to General Sarath Fonseka s wife

    5. The President brought about the downfall in judicial and executive supremacy Anura Dissanayake

    6. Presidential election to be announced at the SLFP convention in November

    7. Deal key to relief package: India

    8. Investigation launched into Maxis Malaysia following KP s information

    9. Plan to make Namal Rajapakse Diywadana Nilame of Dalada Maligawa

Please note that most of them appear to implicate the government and some how create adverse publicity to the govt. Particularly note the 9th headline

Now i have no problem with that because that is what politics is all about. If the opposition wished to publish adverse points about the govt that is fine. There is nothing wrong with that.

In the midst of all that though, some alleged e-mail campaign by Gen Fonseka sounds rather curious.

Frankly, if one wants to start a political campaign an e-mail is hardly the way to start it. Nowhere in the world an aspiring political leader would launch an e-mail campaign to enter the politics. After all the Sri Lankan populace do not really have regular contacts with e-mail do they? I am sure Gen Fonseka is aware of that!

Of course Robins you are entitled to accept or reject the story or its validity as it is your opinion. And I am sure you agree that I am entitled to mine.

    SK,

I strongly condemn your behavior. You should not behave like this and you have to let Thivya to send her FRUSTRATION away:))

    Thivya,

My love:)) I can understand how you feel after May 18th, I can feel your PAIN and I do understand how frustrated you are after your whole La La Land investment drowned in Nanthikadal lagoon. You may TRY to convince your painful little heart that everything is alright, your will to achieve MYTHICAL LA LA HOMELAND and it is still intact. You may even write it here trying to scare the singlecells. But darling let`s face the reality for one moment. Your La La Land is gone, forever. Oops, how can it be gone when there was no Homeland at the first place? But I don`t understand these simple things, I`m just a singlecelled Nazi.

Me being a singlecelled Nazi enjoyed the final few weeks of the end of your La La Land dream so much. My pleasure multiplied by knowing that your cousin became a SON OF SOIL (I think the right term should be Son of SAND) with his brains around him in Nachchikudah. Its always a joy to see someone becomes a Maaveer. I think my Tamil genes which became Sinhalese later on helped me to enjoy like that and you were writing pages of bull here explaining the ancient Tamil warrior code.

Now thanks to you I get the same victorious feeling everyday. You cry, curse and faat here showing your anger, frustration and inability to do anything and that`s great entertainment for me. I`m so thankful for that Thivya and I hope you continue this.

I do enjoy your MISERY my love, every bit of it. So please don`t hesitate to show it. Please write more.

Now you can call me anything darling, I take it with a pinch of salt:)))

Lankanewsweb is one of the sites that tries to stir up problems with SF and Gotha. This is a stupid mail and even could get sued for this. Let`s see what is going to happen.

Obviously mail is not from Sarath Fonseka. This is aimed at idiots likes the ones who believed LTTE.

    Folks,

I also got an E-mail from Mahinda Rajapaksha inviting me to join the Cabinet,..

Lankanewsweb administration doesn`t know anything about the Rajapukse junta, and it is a worthless website, and not popular at all in Sri Lanka. The GOSL don t care about what they say, that`s why Goatabhoy banned the website in Sri Lanka. :)))) LOL

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ)think `lankanewsweb.com and groundviews.org BOTH RELIABLE SOURCES OF INFORMATION` but the Sinhalayass in LNP don`t think so. I would rather agree with IFJ than the Sinhala racists in this forum, that`s why I posted this message. :)))

[Meanwhile, reports on lankanewsweb.com and groundviews.org BOTH RELIABLE SOURCES OF INFORMATION based in Sri Lanka have quoted Mervyn Silva, a government minister known for several bruising encounters with the media in recent years, as publicly claiming credit for the murder of newspaper editor Lasantha Wickramatunge in January and a serious assault on senior journalist Poddala Jayantha in June.]

[Popular News Website Banned in Sri Lanka

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) strongly condemns the reported ban on the popular news website www.lankanewsweb.com imposed by Sri Lanka s Government on July 12.

According to a statement posted on the website, which continues to remain available outside the country, Sri Lanka s state-controlled telecoms company and two other internet service providers within the country have been asked to block access to the website.

The management of lankanewsweb.com, which is yet to be formally informed of the decision, believes the ban is retaliation for two exclusive news reports featured on the website in recent days.

One reported that Namal Rajapakse, son of the Sri Lankan President, had met with a hostile reception when he visited a camp for internally displaced people (IDPs) in the country s north. The other reported on the circumstances in which a son of the Tamil insurgent leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, was killed after the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were defeated by the Sri Lankan army after a quarter-century of civil war.

The IFJ is deeply disturbed by this latest action against free speech by the Sri Lankan Government, IFJ General Secretary Aidan White said.

Reports that the Government coerced news outlets to suppress details of a visit by the President s son to an IDP camp do it little credit. Sri Lanka has a functioning Press Complaints Commission, which could have been approached with a complaint if the President s son felt that he had legitimate grounds for grievance.

Meanwhile, reports on lankanewsweb.com and groundviews.org both reliable sources of information based in Sri Lanka have quoted Mervyn Silva, a government minister known for several bruising encounters with the media in recent years, as publicly claiming credit for the murder of newspaper editor Lasantha Wickramatunge in January and a serious assault on senior journalist Poddala Jayantha in June Silva was reportedly speaking at a public meeting in his parliamentary constituency, in the context of a dispute he is engaged in with the leadership of the local council.

The IFJ is shocked by the statements attributed to the Minister, White said. We do not yet credit these statements, but that a Minister is reported to have claimed killing a journalist as a badge of honour is cause enough for him to be severely disciplined by his party and government .

Silva continues to serve as Labour Minister, despite being indicted in November on charges of illegal assembly, assault and robbery, brought by the staff of a news channel that has repeatedly suffered from his verbal and physical violence.

    Thivya

[I would rather agree with IFJ than the Sinhala racists in this forum, that`s why I posted this message]

Fair enough. You could also rely on other websites such as Puthinam and Sangam. No problem with that at all. No one questions which websites you prefer to trust and agree.

The question is not the credibility of `lankanewsweb.com`. The question is would someone who wishes to launch a political career in Sri Lanka go ahead and send an e-mail to be pblished by a website which apparently is banned in Sri Lanka, (for reasons best known to the govt).

I mean if Gen. Fonseka indeed wishes to launch a poltical career in Sri Lanka, shouldnt he use a website which is not banned in SL so that people can read his message!

Perhaps Gen Fonseka wishes to launch a political career outside Sri Lanka? So he decided to send an e-mail to this banned website!

    Interesting logic indeed
