LTTE`s Masters to be grilled in Sri Lanka

Masters Daya and George Master were due to be brought to Colombo for further interrogation. Thereafter the Government intends rehabilitating them, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said.
After the interrogation, if it is found that they had indulged in criminal activities, they would be prosecuted, he said. Both were involved in LTTE propaganda in the past.
They had joined the mass exodus of civilians from the No Fire Zone to the Government held areas and at the point where the Army checked each and every person before allowing them to proceed further, Daya Master and George Master had identified themselves to the Army.
Thereafter, they were detained for questioning and simultaneously a team of high ranking Army investigators went from Colombo to grill them. Both were expected to be brought to Colombo yesterday afternoon, sources said.
Daya Master was the media spokesman for the LTTE while the George Master was the English interpreter for high ranking LTTE cadres including Prabhakaran. Whenever foreign dignitaries called over at the LTTE Peace Secretariat, George Master was the interpreter. The latter had been a Post Master earlier while Daya Master was an English tutor.

It is to be noted that in the year 2004 when Daya Master (Now said to be captured by the army)and a member of the ltte wing was earlier detained in 2004 for questioning by the police. At that time Mr.Rajapakshe himself came forward to tell that daya master was not in anyway related to the ltte and was just sent as translator by the media and so he need not be detained.
Now in 2009,(Daya master has become a key leader of the LTTE which the Srilankan Army boasts of having accompolished something extraordinary. Anyway Long awaited

You might take comfort in ridiculing the latest news on Daya Master, but some of us remember (even if you've forgotten) that the government allowed him to receive medical treatment at the Apollo hospital in 2006 at LTTE's request, in exchange for the safe return of a policeman held captive by the LTTE (a promise that was not kept, no surprises there).
I believe your post is prompted by the fear that Daya Master has now turned expert witness for the government and is probably this very minute, providing them with details that will help end the war! Maybe he's just showing his gratitude to the government for allowing access to medical treatment back in 2006. You don't need a Masters Degree to understand that!!

This is absolutely wrong message to the international community,
Daya master was captured when he was admitted in a hospital for treatment in LTTE controlled area,
He is not a leading LTTE Leader,
Why soorylanka is not allowing international community to see all this?
why it is not allowing UN ?
Genocide and india's role in it will come out to this world.... |
