    Aruna,

One of the major problem for shortage of energy is wastage and misuse.

Many of the private industries use electricity bypassing the meters.Major GOSL institutes lavishly use free electricity. All the high rankings have air conditioned offices.

One of our major source of income comes from the passport office but inside condition of it is horrible without air conditioning.Donkey minister!!

[The Government is in the process of formation of a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) power transmission line between India and Sri Lanka to ensure a secure and sustainable energy supply to meet the energy needs at reasonable prices.]

good move by the Sri Lankan government . with LTTE terrorism on the verge of being annihilated, we can further strengthen our economic ties with our neighbors these developments will also boost growth in the war torn areas and help rebuild life again
