Information has come to light that the LTTE had utilised the medicinal drugs supplied by the Government for the benefit of the Northern civilians.
The terrorists had used all drugs of the Mulankavil Hospital in Kilinochchi. Our special representative Kasun Gunatilake reporting from the battlefront referred to many destructive activities of the terrorists with the liberation of the area. The Government supplied unabated food and medicinal drugs needed by the Northern civilians. On arrival at Mulankavil, it was able to consolidate how the Government had supplied drugs to Hospitals in every part of the country, particularly to those in the Wanni and the North. Development had also taken place at the Mulankavil Hospital. It was clear that there was no decline in the physical resources. But the LTTE terrorists had not granted an opportunity for the ordinary civilians of the area to utilise these resources. It was explicitly clear that the terrorists had used all these resources. The terrorists had fled the area taking away with them all valuable medicinal drugs. It is a matter of concern that they had destroyed the rest of the drugs which cannot be used. This clearly displayed the brutality of the LTTE terrorists.
