The LTTE should ask for something which is possible for it to be given by a government, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mahinda Wijesekera said when he laid the foundation stone to put up a post office in the vicinity of St Anne s Talawila Church Talawila last week.
He said villagers do not have to travel frequently to the cities when necessary goods and services are provided at the village level under the Mahinda Chintana Rural Development programme.
He said he considered it a privilege to lay the foundation stone for a church at Talawila though he hailed from the south.
The estimated cost of the post office will be rupees seven million and unlike in the former days posts offices could be used as a multipurpose institution where number of services like national and international telephone calls, money transfers and even photo copying documents could be done under one roof, he noted.
It was the policy of the government to provide all facilities available in the city or towns to the people of the rural areas too and despite financial loses post offices have to focus their services to the general public. However steps would be taken to make M noted.

Prabhakaran missed so many opportunities to have his local government with all the powers. But his brain could not asses the situation and take the advantage.
LTTE terrorists deserve a leader like prabakaran.

The water tank in Thunaivi for the people also cost around that figure. But it was NOT funded by government - showing the unreliable basis on which resources are allocated.

Tamils are looking for no handouts
Not only that - but what's possible for Mr. Wijesekera would be different to what is possible for the President, leave alone the LTTE

Ok Mr.Wijesekara listen from the forefront,
Thay needs to bring the cost of living down,
ceasefire,
To stop harassing and intermediating Tamils,
They says they can mind their buisness and to look after your own buisness.

| LTTE said categorically Unitary Government with 13th Amendment is not possible as it vests the whole power of dismissal of the CM and the dissolution of the PC itself with the president at the centre who has always been Sinahal elitist. Further the govt can table proposals based on federal systems that is proved successful in other multi-ethnic countries such as Canada or Switzerland. |
