Are the US representing LTTE?. When you disarm TMVP members LTTE will easily kill the members of TMVP. GOSL must not disarm TMVP until disarm LTTE completely. Better allow TMVP to contest North and come to power.

Mr.Moor is not totally aware of the situation in the east i guess. Disarming the TMVP will bring more trouble. But when you look at it from the political angel, it does not sound right for a political party to carry weapons or have their own carders running around with weapons and doing the unwanted and unwarranted.

In the past there was a suggestion to induct these carders to the Army and make them sit in the east to to protect the civilians as they know the place better than any one else. What happened to that? It could be a bad suggestion too, but if it`s done the right way it could give positive results.

We have been hearing the lip service to peace and human rights from the West led by America.

War on Terror is musical to Bush Administration and the persecution of the minorities is of no consequence.

Britain and America want to help the terrorist governments of Israel and Sri Lanka but issue statements now and then to show that they too are concerned about human rights.

As far as average Americans are concerned, some of them do not even know where Sri Lanka is and most of them do not care. We, including our so-called leaders, are forgetting the fact that US know how important is China, India, Israel etc. But not Sri Lanka where we have been fighting with LTTE without reaching a political settlement. Also we are a very very small and a poor nation where politicians have been disgracefully exploiting the ethnic problem for their benefit, for more than 50 years while investing their ill-gotten wealth in the West.
