Cricketer TM Dilshan Wedding With Actress Manjula Thilini (Nilanjana) - 27th May in New Delhi

Thursday, 29 May 2008 - 3:04 PM SL Time

New Delhi: The agonising wait for Rajasthan Royals` last-ball win over Mumbai Indians that booked it a place in the IPL semifinals turned out to be quite enjoyable for the Delhi Daredevils, who found a perfect getaway from the tension at teammate Tillakaratne Dilshan`s wedding here last night.

The 31-year-old Dilshan got married at a city hotel last night and the Daredevils came out in full force to wish the Sri Lankan all-rounder and his bride.

The marriage was conducted under Hindu rituals and turned out to be a refreshing experience for the team`s other foreign recruits.

It was mesmeric. The music, the clothes that they wore, the atmosphere was completely a new experience for me. I had a good time, said Australian pacer Brett Geeves.

And while they were enjoying the wedding, the Daredevils` happiness was doubled by the arrival of the news that Rajasthan beat Mumbai in a last-ball humdinger.

Needing three runs of the last ball, Rajasthan benefited from a misfield and a spilt run-out chance to romp home and continue with its winning streak.

The Daredevils` hearts would have definitely skipped a few beats during the close match but Dilshan`s wedding made sure that the team found a getaway from the tension. PTI

he was a muslim by default.... till getting a chance to play for national team... he was named Tuan Mohdammad Dilshan...

his father was Tuan... a malay
mother was a sinhalese... his initial TM Dilshan well-fitted with his mothers surname initials... Tilekaratna Mudiyanselage .. Dilshan.... then he converted his name to the current name.....
I think, before 5-6 years he got married... to a sinhala girl...

this guy became very complicated ha!!

What has JHU got to do with this? Personally, I don't think JHU would give a damn who Dilshan marries or how the ceremony would take place. It seems the Hindu wedding is just a glamor thing. Just like White people coming here and getting married in the Singhalese way. It's just for one and they don't convert to Buddhism or anything.
Talking about pulling him out of the team because he's not a Buddhist is just absurd.

Actually, half of the current SL team (and all the new members) are Catholics. It is not clear whether they are in just because of the talent or the overwhelming presence of Catholics in the Cricket Management and the Selection committee has any effect on that.

The SAD Thing.

I have a 'Lankadeepa' papers 'Sandalla' entertainment mini-paper of a past year which discusses abt Dilshan's life style. There he mentioned about his wife as below.

' Im very happy to say that I have got a perfect Wife that a man can have.. ' - Thilakarathna Dilshan.

My question is, is he this Dilshan ???????? - (Don't believe on your Husbund or Wife at all - Is this statement TRUE ?) - HELP ME
