In the Hindu epic Ramayana, Jatayu (Sanskrit: ज ट ा य ू , jatā yū ) is the son of Aruna and nephew of Garuda. A demi-god who has the form of a vulture, he tries to rescue Sita from Ravana when Ravana is on his way to Lanka after kidnapping Sita. Jatayu fought valiantly with Ravana, but as Jatayu was very old Ravana soon got the better of him. As Rama and Lakshmana chanced upon the stricken and dying Jatayu in their search for Sita, he informs them of the fight between him and Ravana and the direction in which Ravana had gone (i.e., south).

Thasheela:
I read that different versions of Ramayana are available in other Asian countries. That had happened centuries ago.
Ramayana is written probably in relation to something really happened.
Yet, Sri Lankan scholars believe that Ramayana and Maname Jathaka two books - one came India and the other from Sri lanka - portrait very much the developed Sri Lankan culture and the RICH yet bullying and arrogant culture of India at that time.
For example, in Ramayana, after all that dedication, SEEHTA had to kill herself by jumping into the fire because man and his relatives did not trust the woman. That was the Indan culture at that time. Woman believed the male dominated - culture and jumped to the fire.
On the other hand, in Sri Lanka Maname - Queen thought freely and saved the Veddha over her own husband, though she was blamed later as an 'bad' wife.
Similarly, RAVANA had his own private aircraft and he was accepted to be very powerful that was why he was portraited as one with ten heads. YET he was called a DEMON -KING. that is how Indians treated Sri Lankans.
It is just like how, at present, the RICH and technologically developed WEST treat the Asians and others.

our most holiest temple the ThiruKoneshwaram kovil is connected to him because that is where he came to worship.
whereas you folks never even knew much about him but are content with hijacking him to further your JHU agendas:))
arent you ashamed? :P

| Anud it's not important to argue whether it's true story or not or who is hero and who is villain. But i think we can learn a lot from each characters. for example how the king's wrong doing can leads to a total destruction to whole country. |

If that is the case, thasheeela is really nice and diplomatic.
Anyway, Tamils in the South, Jaffna and now in the East live peacefully.
Only some tamils everywhere and in Wanni has problems.
Even the yesterday blwoing up was done by tamils in order to kill sinhala policemen who protected another tamil, pillayan.
when Raviraj was killed one Simnhala died. when Maheswaran was killed one sinhala fatally injured. when Jeyaraj was killed many sinhala people died.
Now, yesterday, some sinhala policemen died trying to protect Pillayen.
Who emphasizes those those stories ? |

Ravanan was Tamil or Dravidean. He had some MalasIAN ARE ORIGIN.
He was here prior to Sinhala people. Kuweni was descening from him.
Why Rama/Seetha and Ravana had war.

AnuD,
For example, in Ramayana, after all that dedication, SEEHTA had to kill herself by jumping into the fire because man and his relatives did not trust the woman.
Seetha came out alive and that was the test to show Her purity. Rama knew Sita was pure but as king He had to deliver on behalf of majority as well. Hence the test which Sita passed with flying colours.
That was the Indan culture at that time. Woman believed the male dominated - culture and jumped to the fire.
Women like Sita did not seek their own identity. Their energy / shakthi was added to the males. That is the same as majority vote. Once someone shows independent outcomes they lose the power to drive majority vote.
If you practice even a little bit of Ramayana - or your own parallel - you would not make such drastic mistakes. This is why experience is superior to calculation.
love
