The winners are ALL those who have got elected into the PC as they will now get their car permits and luxury vehicles and allowances, other perks and unofficial `side business` such as commissions etc etc and their lives are going to be fanatstic hereafter.

The losers are the voters who will continue to bare the burdens of the rising cost of living for which there is no solution even on the horizon and hardly anyone elected to the EPC is capable of doing anything of much benefit to the people of the Eastern Province.

[But, we haven`t had any clean election since 1977 under both the UNP and the SLFP, have we? Nor will we have one so long as the SLFP and the UNP form governments]

That is exactly what Tigers are saying but in their own language

[ The real loser at Saturday`s election was Velupillai Prabhakaran]

These words were popular even after Varatharaja Perumal was crowned as the CM of merged NEPC in 1988.

Any move to fool the minorities will boomarang on the origin of it. Now Pillaiyan and Hisbulla will divide the minorities into two camps so that Rajapakse brothers can enjoy the `fun ` and destroy the East and the people.

[Any move to fool the minorities will boomarang on the origin of it. Now Pillaiyan and Hisbulla will divide the minorities into two camps so that Rajapakse brothers can enjoy the `fun ` and destroy the East and the people.]

The division within the minorities began in the mid-1980s with all Tamil armed groups attacking the Muslims. The LTTE became the worst offender after becoming the sole armed group in 1990.

MR has not only aggravated the division by pitting Hisbullah against Pillayan but has also succeeded in further splitting the SLMC with the defection of Hisbullah.

More hardship and suffering in store for the minorities, particularly for the Muslims who have only themselves to blame for electing self-serving people as their leaders.

[Results of far worse electoral exercises like the Referendum (1982), the Presidential Election (1982), the PC polls (1988), the Presidential Election (1988), the General Election (1989) ]

Only those of us who lived through these elections know the 100% validity of this statement.

For example in 1989 General Election only 1% of the people voted in SLFP strongholds down south. But in UNP Strongholds like Nuwara-Eliya and Colombo Central the Voter Turnout was close to 100%...Thus producing a 50% turn out for the whole country....This was how Premadasa Defeated Former SLFP Leader Mrs. Sirimavo Bandaranaike. Their was not an iota of `fairness` about thsese elecitons.

The Election Commisioner`s report on the 1982 infamous Referendum says that it was Fraudulant election in no uncirtain terms.

UNP and JVP created terror to prevent the people in SLFP Strognholds from voting. Dead Bodies were Burning in front of most pooling booths in the Southern, North Central and Sabaragumuwa Provinces which are `Key` Provinces for an SLFP victory.
