Tamil traders in Piliyandala are living in constant fear as Sinhala goons daily threaten them and rob their stocks of goods from their establishments. This has been going on since the Piliyandala bus bomb blast, media sources said.
Sinhala goons Monday robbed goods displayed by Tamil traders on pavements in Piliyandala. In another incident a group of Sinhalese came in a tractor Tuesday morning forcibly removed goods from shop belongs to a Tamil trader in Piliyandala town. The particular trader immediately brought this incident to Mano Ganeshan, leader of the Western Peoples Front who in turn reported the matter to the Officer in Charge of the Piliyandala police. A police party immediately rushed to the site and arrested two persons and seized the goods taken in the tractor, media sources said.
The security in areas where shops of Tamils are located is tightened.

Police also check whether these Tamil traders have any connections with LTTE.
Tamil traders not suppose to be in Sinhala areas because all Tamils are LTTE supporters.
These Tamil Traders act as LTTE agents.
Anyway give maximum punishment to looters.

YES, all Sinhalese are not looters, and also all Tamils are not helping LTTE.

Our thugs are number one patriotic bunch when something valuable is there to loot.
Nobody can beat them in looting.
Police should bring them to the middle of town and let people to stone, or else they should be sent to the battle front to prove their patriorism.

This absolutely ridiculous, police are trying to portray Sinhalese areas are safe for Tamil traders to do business. The payment dwellers won't invest more money into their business anyway . Police are waiting for the bigger catch - once they see Tamil business establish they will come with thugs are loot all the hard earned money of Tamils- This is what happened in 83.
For Tamil be extremely careful in investing money in Government controlled areas. Sinhala police and 90% of Sinhalese are pickpockets!! |
