The JVP charged yesterday the government was currently recruiting hundreds to the prison service in an illegal manner.
JVP parliamentary group leader Wimal Weerawansa told parliament this recruitment drive was being carried out urgently on chits sent by ministers and added that non cabinet Justice Minister Dilan Perera had publicly announced that the recruitment was to be completed by February 15.
Mr. Weerawansa said recruiting people in this manner was illegal as all recruitment to the public sector should be made through the Public Service Commission.
This process has to be stopped immediately as even other ministers will follow this method as if it is the usual procedure, Mr. Weerawansa said.
He said an immediate response was called for from the government as the recruitment was to be completed by February 15. At this point Speaker, W.J.M Lokubandara said it was not possible to get an answer from the government as the Minister concerned was not present in the House.
But Mr. Weerawansa said the House Leader or the Chief Government Whip could answer them and House Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva responding said he was not aware of such recruitment.
Mr. Weerawansa then shot back saying Minister de Silva might not have got a request from Mr. Perera to submit such chits .
You may have not got a chance of filling these vacancies with your supporters and that may be the reason you are not aware of it, he said.
After much heckling by JVP members Mr. de Silva said he will contact Minister Perera and convey to the House hisdecision in half an hour.

So now when your body guards and advisor's are actually convicted for murder and drug dealing it will be like taking a vacation at the guest house served by your own servants put in place by politicians.
SL politics is amazing. |

Traditionally and culturally when presenting a case it has to be supported by evidences examples factors etc and submit to the civilized audience for approval.
Wimal says something and our morons hang on to it and yell!!
There was an acute shortage of prison and armed forces personels. During the recent past in many occasions there had been deviated procedures where people were asked to bring their baggages for direct recruitments.
