Sri Lanka - the paradise for Paedophiles and Child prostitution. The Sinhalese should pay attention to their Children who are selling their innocent bodies to paedophiles on Southern beaches to earn foreign exchange to fight the Sinhala war against Tamils

Thursday, 18 December 2008 - 8:53 PM SL Time

I think the Sinhalese should take care of the Sinhala children on the Southern beaches first. Some of Sinhalese in this forum are shedding crocodile tears for Tamil children while cheering for the bombing of our children and schools Vanni.

It is very sad to note that Sri Lanka is known as a `Paradise for Paedophiles`. According to media and NGOs, nearly 100,000 Children are involved in child prostitution in Sri Lanka. But there is no outcry by the government, people and some NGOs because this business generates massive income in foreign currency. Also, as this business is run by those who have strong links with senior government officials, the problem in not raised and pressure is not exerted on Sri Lanka to ratify the `Optional Protocol on Child Prostitution and Child Pornography`.

The children in this business in the South, along the beaches, are badly affected by HIV and various venereal diseases. This situation has persisted in Sri Lanka for many years.

CHILD RIGHTS IN SRI LANKA:

As far as Sri Lanka is concerned, children`s rights suffer pathetically at the hands of politicians. Instruments are used selectively and the international community, international NGOs, local NGOs and others are smartly manipulated by the government of Sri Lanka to promote its agenda.

A typical example of this are the two Optional Protocols (OP) to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC): (1) OP CRC on the involvement of children in armed conflicts (2) OP CRC on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography. Both optional protocols were adopted and opened for signature, ratification and accession on 25 May 2000. Sri Lanka signed the first OP - on the involvement of children in armed conflict - on 21 August 2000 and ratified it on 08 September 2000, whereas the second OP on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography was signed on 08 May 2002, but has not yet been ratified.

At the same time, more than 110,000 Sri Lankan army deserters have caused another problem affecting children in the South. As the government did not find suitable replacements for these army deserters, the army started recruiting underage school children in the South with bogus birth certificates.

It is important to note that, when the Optional Protocol on Children in Armed Conflict was initiated, Sri Lanka was one of the countries which lobbied heavily for the recruiting age for the State to be fifteen years old.

The matter of the non-state party to the conflict recruiting those of the same age has been repeatedly and strongly raised by the international community, as a child soldier issue. Credible reports have announced that the recruiting has been stopped.

Thousands and thousands of children in the North East have been affected by the war: those who have been displaced, missed their schooling, suffered malnutrition, been traumatized by bombings and shellings, lost their parents, maimed by land-mines, disabled. Most of those still living are in Children`s homes and receive no government help. These well-run children`s homes are helped purely by the Tamil diaspora.

Dimwit impartial,

That video is talking about child prostitution and paedophiles globally and mainly in Sri Lanka. According to save the children organization, Sri Lanka is renowned for child sex tourism. I didn't make that video, I think the news media who made this Video wanted to highlight the child sex scandal of Sri Lankan soldiers also. That's why they included the picture of Haitian children.

The Sri Lankan government openly promised to prosecute the 108 Sri Lankan army child rapists. Do you know what happened to that inquiry? Will the Haitian children ever get justice? Sinhala justice system eh! :))

My post is an appeal and a report on Child Rights in Sri Lanka' was submitted by TCHR to Mr. Manuel Rodriguez, the Chairperson of the 62nd session of the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva.

See, Dimwit impartial is the BIGGEST MORON in LNP. :)) LOL

You pick up a Video made by a member of Youtube with a name like
'PattaVesikePutha' who has attempted to disgrace Sri Lanka.

This will only harm your agenda when ones sees this poorly made videos made from picked up photos and terrible narrator of the script. Oh, the LTTE Money collectors propaganda machines has
now fallen into a new low, as expected.

Please tell your good friend, that 'PattaVesikePutha' to go back to school and learn the art of making a propaganda video, properly.

This is the disgusting Sinhala character, they don't deny or give any valid counter argument for any accusations against Sinhalese or their Sinhala Terror state but they will attack the messenger instead of discussing the message. So far none of the Sinhalese denied that Sri Lanka being a paradise for Paedophiles and child prostitution, but all of them attacked me. :))

Even the guy who posted about alleged Tamil child soldiers few days ago doesn't have the decency to admit that the Sinhalese should pay more attention to the Sinhala child prostitutes than talking about war affected Tamil children. Funny eh! :))

The US attorney Bruce Fein also made fun of this Sinhala character as 'Professorial Nonsense on Stilts' because Sinhalese never denies the atrocities or breaching of international laws by the GOSL and they don't give any valid arguments to counter any accusations against the GOSL but they always deliver an indictment against the LTTE as a purported defense to the GOSL actions against the human rights or international laws.
