Minister Dulles Alahapperuma desires to operate an SLTB bus from Colombo to Jaffna. Discussions are afoot to ply a bus on the A-32 Highway with the liberation of Pooneryn.
Handing over letters of appointment to graduates recruited to the SLTB, he referred to yesterday s decisive victory. The West Coast had been totally liberated. A bus can be operated on the A-32 Highway in two to three months. Instructions had been given to prepare the ground work. The Minister was confident that the Yaal Devi train from Colombo to Jaffna can be operated within one year. The Minister observed the outstanding achievements of the institution, nurtured by the Mahinda Chinthana. More dedication of employees was needed. Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna and SLTB Chief Executive Director Dhammika Hewapathirana were present on this occasion.

| GOSL should not get carried away with this issue still the threat of claymores and land mines are there in the A-32.. it will be better to first clear the area of all threats before going on with this project.. otherwise this might put civilian lives in danger even if they open a bus route there should be constant check points along the way and the GOSL should make sure adequate security is given to the civilians but this will be a major point in the arena of the IC to prove that these liberated areas are put into good use |
