After a prolonged study, substantiated by a research survey, `Rolling Wheels`, the latest media institution, was launched at a media briefing held on Thursday, at the Sea Food Restaurant in Colombo.
`We are launching this initiative with a dual purpose: The first is to introduce Sri Lanka`s first media based on the use of the three-wheeler and secondly to enhance the quality of life of the community of three-wheel drivers and owners`, said Chief Executive Officer of Rolling Wheels (Pvt) Ltd. Dr. Samila de Silva.
The potential of the three- wheeler to spread the message of the advertiser is immense, since it can travel along byroads and into the most interior areas of any city or village. Corporate advertisers will be provided with three panels on which they could publish their message on an exclusive basis, using a total of 1.7 square meters of advertising space for a minimum period of 15 days, but without any maximum period specified.
Initially, this service will be available in the Greater Colombo area and its suburbs and thereafter will be extended to the whole island. The owner of the three-wheeler will be paid an attractive fee and will also be provided with the necessary advertisement panel, free of charge, by Rolling Wheels.
However, the three-wheeler driver will have to comply with stringent regulations regarding condition of the vehicle, good driving habits, compliance with road safety measures and strict behavioural standards.
Rolling wheels will also provide all its partner drivers with a range of benefits such as personal insurance cover, medical insurance cover, books for the children and other benefits which will be on the basis for rewards for adherence to the rules imposed by the company.
`There is no doubt that the negative reports received on the three-wheel community will soon be reduced or eliminated,` said de Silva.
`You will soon find the majority of three-wheel drivers disciplined and caring about the other users of the road. They would no longer require to commit traffic offences, due to the need to cover their running costs. The additional income earned as partners of Rolling Wheels will be more than enough to provide for all their needs,` he added. This is a new way to talk to people about your products. With Rolling Wheels you will have moving billboards going to your target market, instead of your prospective customers coming to your point of display. It is very flexible system that can be shifted from one target area to another, at no extra cost and at high speed, Dr. de Silva concluded.
