The army on Sunday recovered two explosives-packed belts concealed behind a kovil in Waligamam (West).
An army headquarters spokesperson said that the recovery was made on a tip-off given by a civilian.
Initial inquiries revealed that the device was set to explode if the person wearing it raised his or her hands. According to him the device would have been primarily used by women suicide cadres to target VIPs. The recovery was made at 10.25 am.
