All credit to the bold commuters who brought the matter to notice first.

With such action drunken drivers as well as pick pockets can be eradicated.

So the baboons in uniform did not take a bribe and released the driver! May be they had had collected enough dough at the time and decided to do the job just once for a change. Or did the driver had any connection with Mangala and Sripathy ???

What about the VIP`s and there drivers. If police check on all those so called politicians drivers, there will be no space in the jail to remand them for a month.

If this applies properly every one should be given the same treatment. In this case the driver was arested cos the public complained and the police may have had no choice to take him in.

And what about the police who are roaming around the city in police vehicles as I have experienced personally of such occassions.

This is a very good work.

Well done the traffic Police & the bus commutors who were vigilant and had guts to inform the police.

These Thug private bus drivers should be fined with Rs 50,000 for being guilty of drunken driving. (Not Rs 15,000)

Not only that, how abt *HIGH SPEEDING* private buses and *SLOW BOARD* private buses who run like turtoils. Both of them must be fined.

raigamkolla : A typical LTTE Terrorists. Some how wanting to find out a link to blame the SLGo. you are so funny man.

[What driving licence suspended for nine months!?]

He should not be given a licence at all. His sentence should have been five years in prison and four months road sweeping! He was playing around with innocent lives!

Wow, for the first time in Sri Lanka, a drunken driver has driven. What a joke! Is this the only person who have had liquor and driven. Indeed the passengers have done their duty, if not it will be another pathatic accident. Hence, especially, bus drivers should be constantly charged, in order to protect the passengers, so that these idiotic drivers will be more careful.
