    [Mr Brown,

Is LNP also affected by this collapse? ]

    Why should it?

One fine day we, all sri Lankans, will wake up in the morning to find out that MR and brothers have left the country to unknown destinations leaving all the mess they have created. The seemingly good show they are putting up meanwhile is a smoke screen to make enough money to spend during their retirement days. Even after they have done so, there will be some SLPers who would say that they left the country because of LTTe or JVP or some kind of enemy.

Sri Lanka is bust but it will take some time for the rest of you to know.

Sri Lanka is spending more than it csn afford. It is just a matter of time before the whole country is in ruins.

There is nothing anyone of you can do.

Lanka Internet is just the way business is done in SL. Most things is done this way and everyone knows it,No one seems even bothered. Why is that? Maybe lieing and cheating is the norm.

Now it is truely Sorry Lanka.

What is even more alarming is that BOI says it does not monitor the licenses it has issued. Then which govt agency does that? If there is no monitoring then BoI companies can obtain license for one thing and do something else. Not too long ago, an Indian BPO company defrauded nearly $5m and left the country. Bobody knows anything. This is the state of affairs in the country.

Oh c` guys are waiting for these kinda stuff to cheer you up... :)))

A company went bankrupt because they were not good in the business... that`s all...

look at other service providers... most of them are expanding... Dialog is offering better services...SLT has so many customized products etc etc..

you can`t take a failure of one mis-managed company and comment on the economy of the whole country...

needless to say we have so many short coming...mainly due to corruption at every level... We should try to eliminate this but sadly it`s not getting better at a sped we would like to see

[A company went bankrupt because they were not good in the business]

Not necessarily. A company which has a good business can go bust due to mismanagement and fraud. Enron went bust because of fraud. BOI has attracted a lot of criticism from the COPe and Auditor General recently. These are not unfounded. There has been a high level of corruption in BoI. They should have a machenism to ensure that licencses are not abused and they are monitored.

On the whole, there is a glaring absence of good governance in SL, be it corporate or public sector.
