Cross overs not a new subject in the Sri Lankan Political. But what about the public?? How they react and to whom they voted for??? to the Party or to the Person?? this is a question aries in our minds. The public to be more aware of the political situation, most of them are just blindly following a colour, sign and or an individual. Each the public is vitimised by the Politicians. They easily get mezmorised by the public speach and promises according to the situation the politicians gives. What happens to the people who are loyalist to the Elephant?? or the GREEN??? what is next to the Bandaranayake followers.........?? each time the poor people get beaten and abandoned by the politicians they believe. This situation must change.

When RW sh..t it is jong-goney who wipes [or licks ??!@!##%] his backside

    keep going jonnah

just fits you to do that and nothing else

I donno weather to laugh or cry at Jonny. I admire him for standing by his leader, during good times and rough times. But what a waste. These are the type of loyalist a party needs but what a waste.

Jonny you would do the UNP a HUGE favor by putting all your energy and ask RW to go home and have a wonderful retirement.

Pero - not many people know the value of Anura. But im glad you have noticed it and has posted the fact the anura will be back and wil GREATLY STRENGTHEN the MR govt. After all Anura is a VERY VERY efficient minister and will be a powerful asset to MR.

To me, when it comes to standing behind their leaders - come what may - you and Jonny are very alike!! :) :)

Good nite man. Im off to bed!!

    Anizam,

[Pero - not many people know the value of Anura. But im glad you have noticed it and has posted the fact the anura will be back and wil GREATLY STRENGTHEN the MR govt. After all Anura is a VERY VERY efficient minister and will be a powerful asset to MR.]

Well you know that I always see the situation from the angle of a layman and from a professional.

Lets see what a layman observe here.

He knows that Anura is a useless lazy nut. However same layman see Anura`s father as a man who has CREATED SLFP. We people in Sri lanka believe in family bonds and inheritances. Same time we Sri Lankans are always ready to forgive and forget a useless stupid.

MR was somewhat impatient when he fired Anura, Mangala and Sripathi. Now this is his Mahinda Chintanaya, winning over people (by let them continue to live at Auckland house!!) and making them subservient to him.

Mangala tried to be a smart cookie who demand more than what he deserve. No hope for such smart cookies in MR`s chintanaya. That will be a lesson for other smart cookies to be too!!

Sripathi...well who cares about Sripathy any more?

Think of RW. People who defected him never come back to him. Sarath Amnu, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Rohitha Bogollagama...they never returned. He can`t win over people. That means he is NOT suitable for politics.

    Cheers

yeah as for loyalty.. jong-goney is the best...he will go anywhere and even drop his pants down to defend his headless leader.

this is the headless-mindless-senseless gobbels who once said [when he was the minister of sports during 2001-2004] that hooliganism in football is good and that it shows the game is developing. i can vouch that he mentioned this at a press conference. he was referring to an incident in one of the football matches played in colombo or somewhere closer. our former national captain sampath perera was mercilessly assaulted by hooligans and he was hospitalised.

so.. this is what our future sports personalities are going to get if these type fellows are elected and appointed as ministers. cos for all the trouble he takes to wash the leaders -a-r-s-e, he would definitely be appointed as a miniter [if at all UNP wins.. which is another matter].

    Raaja Bhavathu Dhammiko....

MR is proving to be a very shrewed and manipulative (successful though) polticians when it come to domestic poltics!!

I hope he will show the same talent in governing the counrty. Unfortunately does not seem so!!!

BS take people to the top very fast, but does not keep there for a long time!!

Lets hope for the best for the country!!

[ In politics of SL anything can happen]

Yes, What is happening now in the political landscape is a drama in comedy of errors highlighted by highly orchestrated sensations. This forum has become a mirror image of the main political landscape, where the die hards are scrambling for turnarounds in slippery slopes not knowing whether the main player is standing tall unruffled or standing like a scarecrow insulted and humiliated by all. .

  • 15 Feb 2007 11:06:38 GMT

Yes, I also agree with Capricorn that MR acted hastily in sacking the three Ministers, due to him being kept on a higher pedestal by those around, with reports of `Military victories`. Realized the gravity of his actions quietly, may be by seeing the `Expressionless faces of the SLFP old guard`!

For those Ex Ministers, time was not ripe as the present euphoria of Military gains, how ever temporary or ill founded, will take time to ease out or dawn on the southern public. This sort of situations were very much prevalent during last 23 years, except may be with less `Pomp & Pageantry` which can easily convert a hungry nation for same!

Scars of this, of course may remain and could easily surface. Time will tell!

On no defectors returning to RW, well he seems a more principled guy, may be some would say `Unsuitable` to be in Politics!

I still think its not that RW is wrong but SL Public are not mature enough to know whats good for them. Why should RW drop his standards to a lower level. Obviously the majority of UNPers accept him.

Agreed 109%. Pera said that better than i ever can!! :)

[BS take people to the top very fast, but does not keep there for a long time!! ]

Agreed 109%. Kula said that better than i ever can!! :)

Example is CBK. SHe had so much good will when she took over power. On the military front, IN THE BEGINING, she did a thousand times better than MR. But with in five years she fell a lot faster than she rose...

[I still think its not that RW is wrong but SL Public are not mature enough to know whats good for them.]

Politics is the Art of making the people believe what they want to believe. Telling the people what they want to hear. In this dept MR is thousands of miles ahead of RW.

[Why should RW drop his standards to a lower level.]

Urrrr - to win elections???? look at MR. Can anyone go any lower than him. He is beneath the SCUM of the earth. BUt he is also the president!! :)

[Obviously the majority of UNPers accept him.]

Yes that majority will keep him the Leader of opposition FOREVER!! RW has build up a reputation of loosing elections that in the future, every election the UNP goes in as a party that cant win.

Besides, how do we know every UNPer wants him??? Did they have a secret ballot to elect the leader? NO. RW packs the working committee with his loyalists, that ofcourse they wont vote against him.

I was a big supporter of RW just because of his policies. But today im fed up of him. Can someone please tell me how many more elections does the UNP need to loose before he will step down?
