I don`t think anyone will save these idiots. Not worth the

    time.They deserve it!

They deserve the punishment.Corrupt few makes the life harder for lot of good people.

If found guilty, they will have a hand chopped off and be deported immediately. Some would call it barbaric but it is because of such punishments that thefts are rare in KSA.

If we had that punishment in Sri Lanka, wonder whether the VAT crooks and COPE robbers would ever have dared to do what they did. Also there won`t be such a mad rush to enter Politics.

SL tactics won?t work elsewhere outside Asia. Some idiots still seem to think that when outside SL, they can still get away with crimes, petty or otherwise, as everyone does back in SL.

May the others who are eyeing foreign employment now learn a lesson (as if they still needed a lesson on respecting local laws anywhere) and may the offenders soon rest in peace. They knew what the punishment was and now they have earned it themselves. Well done.

Fully agree, many of our honourable members of parliament would then be limbless (and some would also miss some other organs!). But please spare their two brain cells, if anyone could dare to find them!

Oh No. They don`t go for other organs even if the crime is Rape! Repeated offenders will have their other hand and later legs chopped off. After that, they can`t rob any way. Real deterrent punishment.

Just another view of things :)

It`s all nice and fine to punish criminals irrespective of their position, race or religion...

But what these countries should also do at the same time is punish their own citizens also when they do commit `crimes`

So many maids/nannies have been assaulted, not being paid etc etc by their masters... This is not only sri lankans but also people from other countries as well...

These countries seems to be keeping a blind eye for these types of things since their own people are treated as superior beings and still the Men actually rule over the women...

    that`s not justice

[So many maids/nannies have been assaulted, not being paid etc ]

This we have to blame the agents who don`t look after their

    employees.

But just because these people abuse and don`t pay wages does not permit anyone to steal or rob.

    Dauntless

You are right. The laws are not equally applied to their own citizens. Moreover, those from the ruling family are free to break the laws.

If the punishment for theft is applied equally, then the rulers should be the first to be punished because they siphon off billions every year from oil revenues which really belongs to the country.
