Rs 38 m. worth medicine robbed
Thursday, 8 November 2007 - 8:56 AM SL Time

The Auditor General has revealed that medicine worth Rs 38 million sent to the Medical Supplies Division by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation had been robbed. According to the AG, the SPC had bought these supplies between January 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007. The robbery had taken place during the transfer of supplies from SPC stores to the Medical Supplies Division. The AG faulted the Health Ministry for turning a blind eye to the theft of millions worth medicine.

The AG also pointed out absolute negligence on the part of the health authorities and the agency responsible for transporting the supplies. The transport agency had been faulted for failing to maintain safety standards in storing the supplies. A medical consignment worth almost Rs 150 million had been stored haphazardly and this wasn`t an isolated case.

I don't think police or CID might be able to find out robbers......of course.......when they receive orders and instructions from the involved officers

Trust me,
One of the top in Health department administrative officer is in connection with the robbers.
Few from the clerical staff
At least one doctor
Department drivers
A pharmacist
Few pharmacies run by minister or members of parliament
Nothing will happen by the order of the Big Head

Isn't the Health Minister Nimal Siripala a.k.a Cementipala?

The value of the medicine robbed should be much more. I think the AG has not gone through ALL the records!

Tamils terrorists are smart in robbing government property fort their struggle.

Our people are smart of robbing National property for their struggle of being rich.

To teach a good lesson to the people who are responsible for national property and let robbers steal them government should allow to carry out investigations and give 'Rajakale danduwam' to the traitors.
