[He said President Mahinda Rajapakse, as an opposition parliamentarian, had gone to the UN Human Rights Commission

in Geneva, between 1988 and `89 to take up human rights issues at that time, but today others were going to the UN against Sri Lanka. ]

    That is karma coming back

UN must be seen to be consistent in determining

    if bombing and killing,

    embargo on food and medicine,

    curb on visiting loved ones,

    kidnapping and torture,

    killing aid workers,

    extra judicial killing,

are human rights violations or not first.

Then it must apply to the violaters of those crimes namely Israel in Palestine and occupied areas,

    Sri Lanka in North-East,

    and Sudan Darfur.

and take appropriate action to stop it.

[He said President Mahinda Rajapakse, as an opposition parliamentarian, had gone to the UN Human Rights Commission ]

in 1988-89, as an opposition MP, Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse went to UNHCR against an alleged killing of three university students (one name was Thrimawithana, I cannot remember other names) by a provincial political thug called Susantha Punchinilame who was at UNP then.

By the way, I have not heard about this Susantha Punchinilame for a long time. I am sure knowing the facts better than anyone else, he would have been given the correct punishment by the same Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse, who is the President today.
