Tution giving Govt. teachers beware

[who give private tuition classes during school hours, will be punished,]

This is of course news. How come they do it during school hours?

One reason that kids need private tuition is because they do not have good text books and self learning material for science subjects and math.

When I go over the Text books which my daughter uses in her school in US, given free from the school library I understood how self explanatory they are and easy compared to what we had in Sri Lanka.

Dint any of these politicians ever go to school: they don`t seem to understand that the problem is not teachers but the system that does not provide proper staffing or learning material.

Each school differs from the other but the children have to sit the same exam. Now what the govt is saying are:

It does not matter whether you have teachers or material to study, but if you want to sit for the exam you better waste the time in the classroom.

We wont fund the system proper but your not allowed to get NGO support without our authority. Indirectly this means politicians and supporters have to be bribed before the kids could be helped.

This is a crime your playing the future of kids.

This is not a bad idea, which should have been implemented ages ago when we were studying. But talking is different to doing it practically.

Teachers giving private tuition during school hours should be punished.

If government can provide same facilities such as teachers, libraries, laboratories, text books etc to each and every school irrespective of the size and the location, then I support completely stopping private tuition.
