An employee of the Palmyrah Development Board has been taken into custody in connection with the August 8 Dickman`s Road explosion in which two people, including a policeman, died on the spot and another in hospital.
The prime target S. Sivathasan, an ex EPDP Parliamentarian and Chairman of the Palmyrah Development Board, was seriously injured.
He is still recovering in the National Hospital
The bomb was of a magnet type and fixed onto the fuel tank. The suspect had got employment through the prime target. The vehicle in which Sivathasan travelled was parked in the premises of the Palmyrah Development Board and Police believe the suspect fixed the bomb then. A special police team is investigating.
