Rotational mayors as Colombo gets trishaw driver as her 1st citizen

    Dear friends,

The three wheel driver sworn as a mayor in Colombo municipal will not a problem to Srilanka. There are number of Parliament members in Srilanka also came under this category. It proves while considering their behavior in side the Parliament and out side of it. It is not a problem.

The controversial fact is that UNP is trying to get their council memberships by forcing who was unable to submit a valid nomination list for the contest. So based on these facts i am quite sure that UNP will substitute their people to council who did not comply the basic requirements or skills.UNP mayor will be a butcher but not a three wheel driver.

We have seen Cooray and Wasu .Now overdue.

Let the Independent group work. What is the wrong with a three wheeler driver. He is doing a job without plundering public money.

Good example of our democracy.Let Cooray come next time if he wants.

Its ok to have a 3weeler driver to run Colombo.

Mind you we had a cinema hall bouncer as the speaker in the UNP during the Ranil era and to my knowledge we have reputed pork butcher in the PA government who is now a minister. But they are all good people as long as they serve the country.

What is wrong with a three wheeler driver being the Colombo mayor? when we got a `Gon-karathe rider` Wimal Weeramonkey in the parlement.

`Uvais Mohamed Imthiyaz, hailing from Modera`

You can see what the writer trying to say.

But my opinion is UNP should let this guy to run the council. It will lead people to forget class discrimination. And probably he might be the best mayor the colombo ever had.

[Ha Ha...good for the racist sinhala budhist...a muslim to run thier capitol city....]

We do not mind whether he is a Muslim or a Tamil to be the mayor as far as he is elected fairly and a law abided citizen. That?s why we voted him. That is the real nature of real Sinhalese Buddhists. If you were not brain-washed you could see this reality.

What about a muslim or tamil becoming President or Prime Minister?

Do you remember who stopped the late Kadirgamar becoming Prime Minister? It was your present President sinhala racist Mahinda Rajapakse.

    Tarquin, aeiou,

ha,ha,ha aeiou, like Gunapla said it doesn`t matter if the mayor is tamil, muslim, burgher, or sinhalese as long as he/she is capable and able to do the job properly. People like you are so deluded by hatred that you cannot see anything clearly and do not have any kind of vision at all!

Get out of your single vision mindset and open your eyes, look around you. In this world, we need skills to relate to people from different ethnic, language, religious backgrounds from our own and be able to relate and interact with people in a positive fashion and to live and let live. This is a much needed skill especially in a country like sri-lanka and in many other countries.
